The date is booked, location chosen and all details shared! The day henceforth is fast approaching, and low.
it is now the day before your session.
And what am I up to?
This is another "day in the life" kinda posts so wrong or right up head is my honest lil to do's and the mini amusing chaos' of the day before and day of your session on my end, we all know that the family of 4 getting ready and out the door can feel like a LOT and the realness that is helping get your man ready when he JUST got home 5 minutes ago and now your a little behind on your way to your session...
(I've been there and heard at least once every common delay and tiny drama)
Well, here's my end lol and it ain't always sunshine and roses over her neither! haha
(Maybe sometime I'll compile a little "The worst things that happened on my way to a session" post? but not today haha)
So here's the possibly rather dull tea...
First thing! I charge my camera! You have no idea how often when a session is over I jump straight to editing without taking the time to re-prep anything haha
The morning of I load my equipment and make sure I have extra chips etc and we (The man and I) talk about where the session is, how far, are we gonna get food (his preferred payment method) lol
Next I honestly make sure my partner in crime remembers I have a session the next day haha
Normally I text you the morning of (depending on the time) because I'm excited! and also just in case you're like me and are starting to wonder if it is indeed today that you have plans haha
Now otw, the number of times I check back for my camera is... unnecessary to mention here but I was caught slipping once and never shall again!
I plan to be at our meeting place normally 30-45 minutes early just to scout out the area (regardless of wether I've been there before cause things change lol) and I take a mental and some physical notes with my phones camera of spots that look extra special...
The last session I shot I unironically thought started and hour earlier then it did so we were there almost 2 hours early soooo we got coffee and a smoothie and had a little photo date! very not the norm but hey, I'm not passing up some BTS or a chance to train my future photo-buddy (he doesn't know that's him yet haha
Once you get there scouting time is over and we hop into our session!
I always check with you when the session comes to it's natural or timely end to make sure that you got every shot you were looking for at least once before we say our "see ya laters!" and then I try to remind everyone of the editing finish date (mostly myself)
Brandon may take some BTS that I post or maybe just a few nature snippets or shots from my camera cause I'm feeling whimsical but that normally it for a few days and I try not to post where I'm at until I'm not there anymore!

Then I get home (or pay the piper dinner lol) and upload your session so I have it in at least two spots before bed.
If I have loads of time I go ahead and cull the session pronto but normally that's it!
And yes, I put my camera bag away forgetting yet again to charge annnything lol
